1) Photos must be submitted in digital
format preferably by email to photocontest2004@cabopulmo.com or by mail on a CD to:

Photos may be taken with a film-based
camera and scanned into digital format.
Note: Use your image caption name as the file name of the
image when sending them to the photo contest coordinator.
2) Digital photos must be a minimum
resolution of 1600x1200 pixels and in .jpg format. Preferred minimum
resolution should be 2048x1536 pixels or larger and in .jpg or
.tiff format for printing and promotional purposes.
3) Contest entries must be postmarked
no later than Friday, April 30th, 2004, to be included in Contest of 2004.
4) Photographers may be visitors
or guess at Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort. All regular resort fees apply
to visitor, amateur, and professional photographers for reasons
related to visitation and to the contest.
5) Registration is limited to up
to 10 photos per photographer.
6) Photos must be in color.
7) Photos may be in landscape or
vertical format.
8) Photos must be taken in Cabo
Pulmo above water or below, Baja California Sur, México.
9) Registration form of registered photos
may be e-mailed to the coordinator of the contest at:

10) The registration form will have
a mandatory photo release by the photographer (to be initialed
on the entry form) to Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort and sponsors of
the Photo Contest.

Part A:
I do hereby make the following statements,
releases, assignments, and assurances to Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort
and photo contest sponsors (the “Released Parties”):
I am the person who took the photograph(s)
submitted herewith, and I have not assigned any of my rights associated
with these photographs to any third party.
All models or persons depicted in
the photograph(s) have given me their unrestricted written consent
to use their likeness or image.
I agree to indemnify the Released
Parties from any cost or expense arising from their lawful use
of any photographs I submit, and I further release the Released
Parties from any liability whatsoever that arises from their lawful
use of these photographs.
I agree to work in good faith with
the Released Parties to promptly resolve any problems or disputes
that may arise due to my submission of these photographs.
Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort and Released
Parties recognize that I, or the person I designate, own the image(s)
or any copyright to the photograph.

Part B:
Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort has non-exclusive
rights to use, publish, and sell products based on the photograph(s)
on its website or in publications and to distribute Desktop
Wallpaper in conjunction with this contest. However, the main purpose of this is to
decorate the museum/restaurant/dive center and to credit those
enthusiasts in photography.
Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort may also
use the photograph(s) in their publications to promote their
Villas, such as on their website, in brochures, in magazines,
and for other similar marketing and promotional uses. Released
Parties have first party rights only.
In each publication of the photograph(s),
Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort and Released Parties will give full
credit to the owner. I will advise Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort and
Released Parties of all copyrighted photos I submit, so that
Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort and Released Parties can show the copyright
symbol and credit for each such photograph published.
11) The contest has one single category
which is Free, amateurs and professional photographers are allowed.
12) Judges base their decisions
on the following qualities: creativity, impact, storytelling,
technical superiority, lighting, composition, and effectiveness
in conveying the uniqueness of Cabo Pulmo.
13) Best photos will be framed and
showed in the Cabo Pulmo Museum/Restaurant and in the Dive Center for visitors
to enjoy.
The
Jury will consist of four prominent
judges; two recognized professional photographers and two members
of Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort administration, who will select the
First, Second, and Third place winners, and Honorary Mentions
from all photos registered with the photo contest.
14) We will contact winners by e-mail
by June of 2004. Be
sure that if you change your email to notify us of that change.
15) Photographic enhancement is
permitted but needs to look real.
Photographers are not permitted to place borders or frames
around their images or to place watermarks, signatures, dates,
or copyright notices on their images.
(Copyright notices are placed on all photographs displayed online)
16) Entry materials will not be
returned.
18) Entries that fail to comply
with the Official Contest Rules will be disqualified.
19) Bungalow awards may not be redeemed in
advance of more than 30 days in high seasons which includes
Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks.
