Your first step in becoming a PADI scuba diving professional is the PADI Divemaster Internship. Your Divemaster Internship Program will have you working closely with our international experienced professional development staff to help you expand your dive knowledge and sharpen your diving skills to the professional level.

Here at Baja Diving Academy, located at the Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort, we are serious about providing the best quality divemaster internships the world has to offer, but that’s not the whole experience. You will be working and living with other divemaster internship participants from all over the world. The excitement and cultural flavor of Cabo Pulmo makes it the setting of the diving adventure of a lifetime.

Every person taking our programs is important to us. So, at Baja Diving Academy, you will not be treated as a number. We like to keep our classes small so that we can give you all the personal attention you need and deserve. Throughout your course you will receive individualized counseling and feedback regarding your performance. We want you not only to be able to easily pass the Instructor Examination, but to thoroughly prepare you to begin your career in the dive industry. Our dedicated team of experienced Course Director and Staff Instructors are always available at the facility after hours to help you with academic study.

Divemaster Internship Prerequisites:

To qualify for our PADI Divemaster Internship course, you must be:

  • 18 years old
  • A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
  • A PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
  • An Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or qualifying first aid and CPR training from another organization) course completion within the past 24 months.
  • Be fit for diving and submit a PADI Medical Statement form signed by a physician within the last 12 months.

Obviously our different divemaster internships have different prices. Your price will also vary depending on your current level of dive training.. We're happy to provide a personalized PADI Divemaster internship to suit your specific diving needs.

What can a PADI Divemaster do?

After completing your PADI Divemaster Internship, you can:

  • Supervise dives by organizing, planning and conducting dives for certified scuba divers.
  • Help PADI Instructors during any PADI course
  • Independently conduct the PADI Skin Diver Course
  • Independently conduct the PADI Discover Snorkeling program
  • Independently conduct the PADI Discover Local Diving experience
  • Independently conduct the PADI Scuba Review program
  • Attend the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor course to be able to teach the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty.
  • Accompany student divers during Adventure Dives or Specialty training dives under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor.
  • Conduct PADI Seal Team AquaMissions
  • Conduct future dives, under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor, for Discover Scuba Diving participants who have already completed a DSD with a PADI Instructor.
  • Conduct Emergency First Response course after taking your Emergency First Response Instructor course. Becoming a PADI Divemaster is the first step toward becoming a PADI Assistant Instructor.
